This is a Revell HALO Warthog vehicle model kit

Made from a subject in the HALO games, the Warthog was the choice of an all terrain vehicle to get you where you wanted to go.

The Revell kit features the Warthog model (1/20 scale? or there roundabout) with three figures (not shown here because I could not find them a year or so after I purchased this model - oops).

It's made of hard plastic and is a typical model though the plastic is probably harder than you're used to. My idea, which I had for some time, was to make it an off-road rescue vehicle out of mine - and I finally got around to actually building it recently.

Assembly is simple enough (the kit is actually a snap model though I glued the parts together) and it was easy to work on. I painted all the parts to show the colors I wanted and I thought the red was a good choice for a rescue / emergency type vehicle.

The kit includes a "space gun" for the back but I did not use it here.

The model is molded in a semi dark green. I used primers to cover that up and tone it down for actual color - mainly the bright red of the body.

The underside was painted a metallic silver, the interior, rims, and other parts a charcoal gray dark metallic color. The railings a chrome silver.

I lost the front windshield which the kit does include, but I think it looks ok without it.

I used extra parts for added details, such as the raft, a med box and a cooler.

The tires are a rubber / vinyl material. I didn't think paint would adhere to them very well so I left them as is. They have a slight brown shade to them but they look ok

The kit includes a winch in front, and 4 "Jerry" type cans for the rear. All the decals are ones from my big box of leftover decals and are not included with the kit.

Overall it was a fun kit to build without much fuss. Use your imagination and you can make almost any kind of vehicle with it.
