A
Tom Daniel Badman Chevy
This
kit is one of those models that is so famous. Just about
every car modeler has built it at least once. I've assembled
many in my life time.
It's
simple, but made from thick plastic and thick parts. Nothing
flimsy here. So it's a perfect kit for youngsters. But even
as an adult, I still love this kit!
I
think it is one of the best Top 10 model car kits of all
time. Generations of modelers have built this car.
Even
though it's molded in color, I painted it yellow to get
a consistant look to the body. The interior is made up of
two sections - some is on the chassis, some is a separate
piece. I masked those off and painted them a Neutral Grey
color.
Microscale
makes a glue that's for foil. You can use it on either side,
the shiny side or the dull side, depending on the look you're
going for - shiny or metal. I've used this stuff for years.
Bare
Metal Foil is great stuff too, but sometimes I use this
glue, which works on household aluminum (which is thicker
and sometimes more manageable than Bare Metal Foil, which
is extremely thin).
Using
the rounded end of a paintbrush, and somethines a dull toothpick,
can help get the foil smooth and where you want it.
This
version of the Badman included red tinted windows, but not
all the issues of this kit do.
Overall,
it's a fun kit to build.
