This
is one of the Moebius Ford pickup truck model kits. They make several different years and types including short beds, long beds, 2WD and 4WD. Even one with a bin box on the back.
This is the second one I have built and the kits are all well produced. Many of them share parts since Ford didn't alter the frame and suspension much during the years. Roughly around 1965 to 1978.
This kit is a 4x4 and features the front differential, transfer case, and rims for that version, among some other minor differences.
For the most part the truck is stock. I did add the cable reel and a couple of wood boards to the bed for interest. The spool is a 1:35 kit by Miniart - but works well with 1/25-1/24 kits since cable reels came in all sorts of sizes.
The paint is Tamiya AS19. This is a flat military color (normally for aircraft). I used a urethane clear coat over the paint to add glos.
I liked the kit and actually have a few more Moebius trucks to build. I recommend you pick one up. |
