This
is a resin figure made by Luftkrieg
1919.
If
I had to guess I would say it's around 1/16 (?). Similar
in height to other figures I've built in that scale. Overall
she's 4 inches tall from her foot sole to the top of her
head.
The
resin is extremely detailed with no defects whatsoever in
my example. I am very impressed with this model.
There
are two options included for the head, and two for the right
hand. I chose the hand that holds the bow. I think the other
hand holds an included arrow. The other head option has
her hair in a bun, which is traditional and correct, but
I prefer the head with her hair down.
I
chose the hand with the bow which seemed more action oriented
to me as far as the pose.
I
painted the entire figure with various acrylic paints with
a brush. Primarily Vallejo, but also some MIG Ammo colors
and Army Painter Zombie shades. I am not an expert at figures
but I've been modeling for over 40 years so I can fake it
pretty good. Actually I am getting into figures more and
more, and this one was a joy to paint. (my favorite part).
I
used CA glue to hold the few extra parts together with no
issues.
Once
painted I used some drybrushing, some washes, and some colored
chalk to accent different areas to get the look I wanted.(Army
Painter's Zombie Shader is my favorite wash so far!).
The
sash around her waist is molded into the figure. I noticed
many of the pictures I looked at online from other modelers
had designs on the sash, usually a traditional Japanese
floral pattern.
I
bought my figure from a distributer hobby store. I wasn't
sure if the kit was missing any decals, possibly for the
sash? I emailed Luftkrieg1919 and recieved a fast and friendly
response from Richard: the kit does not use decals, the
patterns on the sash are hand painted by the various modelers
so they vary from builder to builder.
No
worries. I just wanted to be sure. I didn't think my painting
skills were up to painting those flowers so I cheated. I
used floral decals that women use on their fingernails LOL
!
Hey,
they worked very well and are inexpensive.
To
finish off the bow I used a guitar string to make the draw
cord. (E string, if you don't know guitars).
Overall
I had a lot of fun building this kit. I had no grief or
problems at all and that's the kind of modeling I like.
Plus,
with the optional parts, you can build and paint the figure
many different ways to your own ideas. So use your imagination.
You
can buy this figure (and many others) directly from them
