This
heavy truck model was built many years ago. The pictures
were taken with a not so great camera.
At
the time I wanted to make a 1/25 scale military truck. I
came across an AMT Paystar kit at a cheap price, I think
it was a cement truck model. It had military type tires,
and it was somewhat generic, so I thought it would be a
good choice to build the ideas in my head.
It
also had a really big bumper.
For
the most part it's built out of the box, and painted a military
olive drab green. The machine on the back was made from
left over parts out of my spares box. I think I used some
European truck parts as well. The machine isn't anything
particular, it just looks like a gnarly military piece of
hardware.
I
don't remember having any issues building the kit.
Overall
I was happy with the way it turned out. And being all one
color, painting it was certainly very easy.
I've
heard car and truck modelers mention sometimes that they
wish some military kits were in 1/24 - 1/25 scale. In a
way, some are. Heavy trucks were used throughout US history,
and using a civilian truck kit and modifying it shouldn't
be to hard. Use your imagination.
