AMT
made two versions ofthe 1966 Ford Fairlane model kits.
One
is a GTA, with a 390 V8. The other one, shown here, is the
427 V8 offering. Both the 390 and the 427 are Ford FE engine
blocks, so in that respect, especially in a model, they
look nearly identical.
The
427 version model has some different parts, such as the
"poverty caps" hub caps, steel wheels, a few different
parts for the engine, and a different hood.
The
kits build up pretty much the same though.
I've
built several of these cars, and they're good subjects to
make. Though it's a very tight tolerance to get the body,
interior tub, and the chassis to all jive together and fit
well.
Below
is the 427 engine and manual transmission.
