Autoworld Model Kits - Vintage AMT and Polar Lights 2008 |
|
Autoworld - Vintage AMT and Polar Lights Model Kits 2008. |
Autoworld
(the company that recently signed an agreement to produce and
distribute AMT and Polar Lights model kits) has some great
new subjects in the works.
Along
with some car kits that haven't been out for awhile, some for
decades, they are reissuing Star
Treks TOS Enterprise, in two ways.
First
is the older AMT original kit, which dates back as far as the
1960's (with a few revisions along the way). This was one of
AMT's most popular run kits ever, if I remember right, it rarely
ever went out of production until the late 1990's. They produced
them for decades.
The
second is the smaller Polar Lights version, which is actually
a pretty accurate kit, and can be built in 3 versions.
Check
out all the new stuff at their new website here.

Star Wars Senator Guard Figure 2008. |
Star
Wars Senator Guard figure, new from Hobby Search and by
Kotobukiya.
This
is 1:7 scale, and would probably be a good addition if you collect
Star Wars models or figures.
It is also a licensed product.

Reliable Resin 1:25 Ford F-GTX-1 Body 2008 |
|
Reliable Resin 1:25 Ford F-GTX-1 Body Kit 2008. |
Reliable
Resin has produced a 1:25 scale trans-body to make the Ford
F-GTX-1 by DB Designz. This resin conversion fits both Johnny
Lightning and Polar Lights Snapfast
kits.
This
is a great way to make a unique model, and make a hot car even
hotter. It also allows you to detail the interior since it's
easy to view.

Hot Wheels 1966 Batmobile Diecast 2008 |
|
1966 Batmobile Hot Wheels Mattel Diecast 2008 |
The
new Mattel
1:18 scale 1966 Batmobile diecast is out, I recieved mine
a week or so ago. I had preordered it from Amazon ( $ 29.99).
I suspect they will be hard to find and quite expensive once
the collectors get their hands on them.
Here are a few pictures of
the one I have for review. They did a good job, it's a hefty
piece, and the fit and finish is well done.
Those
of you who are familiar with the site know I have built a resin
1:25 scale Batmobile, and about the Danbury
Mint Batmobile that never was. It's obviously one of my
favorite cars. :-)

1:25 Scale Paper Models 2008 |
|
1:25 Scale Paper Model Kits 2008 |
There
are not many model kits of military vehicles in 1:25 scale.
A few Jeeps, couple of Tanks, a VW Type
82 Thing. But selection is very thin. That's when it comes
to plastic.
But
here
is a company that issues paper models of several different kinds
of military vehicles, including German, Polish, U.S. and more,
all in 1:25 scale (among others).
The
detail certainly isn't lacking. With the photos, you would be
hard pressed to tell that they are even paper. Check them out,
and see what you think. Here's a Bradley.

Dodge Diplomat 1:25 Scale Die cast 2008 |
|
1:25 Scale 1986 Dodge Diplomat 2008 |
The
odds of a Dodge Diplomat being issued in plastic is not likely.
Maybe resin, but not so far. A stock Diplomat is so-so as far
as popularity (though it was one of Dodge's last RWD cars),
but most of us remember them as cop cars, later as a Monaco.
MotorMax
is going to issue a 1:25 scale diecast of the a 1986 Diplomat,
and this could be just what Police car builders have been waiting
for. These cars were used everywhere by all kinds of departments.
The body style had a long run as well, 1977-1989.
It
would have to be converted, with aftermarket parts and some
kit bashing, not a big deal for a modeler. But it would add
another noteworthy example of a police car to add to an emergency
model collection.
