Top Speed Video 2007
If
you are a car modeler, you are probably also a "Car
Guy". To fuel that passion, well, this video is pretty
interesting. How about a 1100hp, quad turbo charged Bugatti
that does 253mph...in real time, in a real test.
Our
friends over at Retro
Resin are releasing a new 1/12 scale model kit in
their Monsters of the Movies line, The Fly.
Sculptured
by Jeff Yagher, it's highly detailed with a base, and
a choice of 2 right hands (The axe one being the favorite
of course :-) The great box art painting was done by Gary
Makatura who did some of those fantasy Aurora boxes you
may have seen around.
Retro
Resin has some other projects in the works, so keep
checking back with them in the months to come. Kits such
as Blackbeard, The Green Beret, Monster Scenes Frankenstein,
Dr. Deadly and Pain Parlor + others. Oh yeah !
Of
special interest are the new products from Scale
Motorsport. Including a Daytona Cobra and detail set
of Revell's C6R Corvette. I couldn't find the products
on their website yet, but some of their links don't work,
and some images do not appear, so maybe they are planning
on updating the site soon.
It's
a model, no, it's a fish bowl !
Model
Fishbowl Pacer 2007
Sometimes
modelers like to do some pretty strange things. But you
never know with a modeler, anything can happen!
Take
this project. It started off as an AMC Pacer model kit,
but with a few modifications, it can be ........ a home
for your fish !
NNL
and other Model Shows
NNL
and other Model Shows and Contests 2007
It's
that time again. I have a few links to some galleries
of model shows and contests. As always, these can be a
great inspiration just full of ideas. :
There
are modelers, kit builders, and then their are people
who take it to such another level, it's almost beyond
words.
Take
this Norton
Motorcycle for instance. The site is in (Japanese?),
but the pictures pretty much speak for themselves. Scratch
building a cylinder head?
I
see the scale 1/9 mentioned, so I am going to go with
that as far as the size. But be sure and check it out.
There is some really nice work being done here.

Resin Resin Kits
Retro
Resin Monster and Universal Figure Model Kits
In
case you haven't heard of them, Retro
Resin produces figure kits of some of Hollywood's
best know monsters. They have also followed in Auroras
footsteps by releasing kits that are similar to their
products of old, or products they produced in so few quantities,
they are extremely rare.
Kits
includes classics such as Captain Kidd, Cromagnon Woman,
Wonder Woman, Tarzan. Jekyll & Hyde, Vampirella, and
much more.
Mobeus
Models to bring back Tom Daniel's Rommel Rod
Tom
Daniel's Rommel Rods
The Tom Daniel's Rommel Rod has long since been a kit
modelers have been wanting reissued for a long time. The
old mold has been gone for many a year, surrounded in
mystery (ship sank with the mold, train wreck, take your
pick of story..).
Fast
forward to today. Moebius
Models has announced that it is going to bring back
this kit, in an all new form. It will be the basic kit
we have all come to know and recognize, but the scale
is yet to be determined, and the company has said they
are going to add some new goodies to make this kit design
even better than the original.
