Altered States Resin Hydro Race Boat - 2007 |
|
Altered States Resin Top Fuel Hydro Race Boat 2007 |
Altered
States has re-released their resin Top
Fuel Hydro boat kit. This is in 1/24 scale, so it's perfect
for the car / truck modeling crowd. There really is no other
kit like this out there in the market. The closest thing ever
made to this in plastic (a much older version of a race boat)
would be the old Testor's
Budweiser boat.
This
is a modern version of the top fule boats you see drag racing
on fresh water across the country. Altered States has left the
engine part up to you, meaning you can use any engine combination
you want to. Anything goes !
Check
out www.dragboats.com
to see the various possibilities for this model build. Bad to
the bone !

Fantastic Plastic's Star Trek Phoenix Warp One Ship - 2007 |
|
Fantastic Plastics Star Trek Zephram Cochran Warp One Phoenix
2007 |
Fantastic
Plastics has released their new
kit, the "Phoenix" from the Star Trek series movie
Star Trek: First Contact. It scales out about 1:144, and
is made from Resin (Solid Cast). It consists of 13 individual
pieces. A display stand is also available separately.
The
kit was patterned by Alfred Wong.
I
think a lot of people have been waiting for a kit of this ship.
Although neither Monogram or AMT took a chance and did one,
Fantastic Plastics has
stepped up and brought us a good example to add to our collections.

Printable Paper Model Guitars - 2007 |
|
Printable Model Guitars 2007 |
I
don't usually mention much about paper models. Subjects are
everywhere, from Nasa spaceships, cars, airplanes, to houses,
and these interesting
printable guitars.
Kind
of neat. I'm thinking that by scaling the print up and down,
they might look good with a model
car, or even a scale
figure.

Revell Germany Model Contest - 2007 |
|
Revell Germany Model Contest 2007 |
Revell
Germany had an online model contest this year. They now have
pictures of the winners posted. I am pretty sure the kits had
to be a Revell product. It's a variety of subjects.
The
top
winner was an F4 Phantom aircraft kit, done as a cutaway.
Quite impressive, and a lot of work I am sure.
All
the models are very well done. Be sure and check them out.

Peter Shaw's Railgun 1:6 Dora - 2007 |
|
Peter Shaw's Railgun Replica 2007 |
There's
building big, and then there's ...well..building REALLY BIG.
How about 1:6? How
about a model / replica that is so big, it fills up your drive
way?
Peter
says he likes to build railguns. Seems he built some smaller
examples, but decided 1:16 just wasn't going to do it, he could
go bigger. So, 4+ months later, and a lot of wood and fabricating,
he's created this 1"6 example here. Wow !
Luckily
he can break it down for storage and moving, but assembled together,
it's quite impressive.

Moebius Models Release Their Voyager Kit -- 2007 |
|
Mobeus Models Voyager Model Kit 2007 |
The
Moebius Models "The
Voyager" kit is out. As mentioned in a previous news
clip, this is based on the animation show "Fantastic Voyage",
rather than the live action movie (with Raquel Welch). Still,
it's faithful to the original Aurora offering.
Pretty
cool. :-)
