| Pixar's
/ Disney's "Cars" Movie |
| April

There
are some full size examples of these animated cars touring
parts of the country. See if they come
to a neighborhood near you.
There
are also die
cast versions of some of the vehicles from the movie,
a few in 1/24 scale. Should be a great tie-in for the
film.
If
you don't know about the movie, check
out the trailer here.

How
about a 12
inch tall Robocop.
They
also now have a Disney
Nautilus with a squid kit/diorama, which is styrene
molded but pre assembled. It's a bit small for my taste,
but hey, it's not really expensive. Speaking of Disney,
the Monorail they offer is interesting. A replica of the
Disneyland
1950's version.

Scale
Auto has added a new feature to their website. You can
now download
articles from past issues right off their website
(for a nominal fee). They are presented as bundles, so
you are actually getting several articles put together
in one download.

A

| Minority
Report Lexus Car |
| April

I
don't think there is a model kit of the Lexus concept
car from the movie Minority
Report, but I did come across a die cast of it, in
1/24 scale. Check
that out here.
I
never saw the movie (I don't care for Tom Cruise's attempt
at acting), but the car looks interesting.
Another
concept car I would like to see as a resin kit or even
a die cast, would be the Audi from the movie
I-Robot.

Turbine Car |

Chances
are, if you have been building model cars for some time,
you have one of these kits in your stash, or have built
one.
The
subject is unique to say the least, but it also a very
good kit, and has probably twice the parts count of an
everyday car kit.
It's
not an easy kit to build. But Scott Bregi has made a good
go at it, check
out his build here.
If
you haven't built yours yet, well, the pics will give
you an idea of where all those strange parts go. :-)
Here
is some information and some pictures of the real car
online.

For
you scifi modelers (and anyone that's a bit of a tech
head), this shirt or sticker will be familiar to you.
I guess it's one of those things that if you have to explain
it, you wouldn't understand. Still... it's funny. :-)

Adam
comes through again with this huge project, the Revell
Hermann Marwede Ship. Check

| B9
Lost in Space Robot |
| April
2, 2006 |
Monsters
in Motion is going to have a B9
Lost in Space robot. It's a die cast, at 10-inches
high. That's almost twice as tall as the Polar
Lights model kit.
If
you are a fan of older Aurora kits, they are also carrying
reproduction
boxes, in the same box art style as the 1960's kits.
Box art of kits never produced, but cool all the same.
