Audi R8 Model
Kit by Alvin L.
| |
This
is the new 1/24 Revell of Germany Audi R8 I just finished.
I started with the idea that if I owned the real thing I would
like to bring it to the Sema show, since I can't afford
the real car I use models to get my Ideas out of my head.
The
R8's engine was upgraded with a supercharger and a big top
mount intercooler, the exhaust was changed out and free
flowing mufflers and custom exhaust tips were
installed. The computer was remapped to accept
the extra air, bringing hp from 420 up to 535 @ 7800 rpm and 0-60 in
4.1.
I
changed the wheels to a lighter weight Volk racing wheel which
were custom painted. The suspension was tuned and lowered
for a more aggressive feel and stance. The factory
mirrors were replaced for a smoother look, and the sideblades
were upgraded to a light carbon Kevlar along with engine
compartment trim to match.
Race
seats were installed with harness belts for both driver and
passenger with an option to shut off the airbags through a
SRS control unit switch. (There really isn't a
switch it's just a model.) The paint is Tamiya white primer
and Tamiya clear coat. Hope you enjoy this model.

world, and is applauded for its design per se. Since its launch
in early 1999, the TT has been a spectacular sales success, particularly
in the UK and the USA. Quattro four-wheel-drive makes the TT unique
amongst the current crop of coupes and roadsters. Nearly six years
after it was first unveiled to the press, the car still turns
heads, and has inspired a burgeoning aftermarket accessory and
tuning industry. This all-color book will fascinate all Audi TT
owners and sports car enthusiasts in general.
- Audi
