I
changed the wheels on the kit, since I liked these a lot
better, and they allowed a wider tire.
This
is the AMT Blueprinter magazine release, while the original
car was from the TV Show Get Smart.
This is an older kit, but nice for the subject. It comes
with an 260 /289 Ford small block engine, and the hood is
removable.
The
kit also included parts to make a road / race car out of
it, such as fender flares, roll bar, etc. I think this kit
should be released again, maybe with the race car box art.
I think it would be popular.
Cars
in TV & Films Book - Good reference if you like to
build TV and movie related cars and truck models. From Steve
McQueen's Mustang to 007's
killer Aston Martins, cars are the stars in a number of
films, every bit as much as their human occupants. This book
reviews the good, the bad and the ugly in car movies from
both sides of the Atlantic. Packed with obscure facts, stills
and arty posters, this book adds up to a visual feast of nostalgia
for film buffs and motoring enthusiasts alike. Great reference
if you build TV and Movie models.
Sunbeam
Tiger - Here's the full story of the Sunbeam Tiger. Beginning
with its conception followed by construction of the prototype
in the Carroll Shelby Cobra shops. Then the story continues
where the prototype arrives in England, is driven by Lord
Rootes and approved for production of more than 7000 copies.
The prototype disappears but is, almost magically, found and
preserved by author Carroll who was involved in its creation.
A marvelous report of unusual automotive history. Authentic
background of the Sunbeam Tiger V8 sports car.
Cars
in Film Great Moments from Post-War International Cinema
- From Steve McQueen's Mustang in "Bullitt"
to 007's Aston Martins, and the veteran Darracq in "Genevieve"
to the daredevil Mini Coopers in "The Italian Job,"
cars are the stars just as much as their human occupants in
a number of films. This book reviews the good, the bad, and
the ugly in car movies from both sides of the Atlantic. It's
a feast of nostalgia for film buffs and motoring enthusiasts
alike.
Performance
Tuning the Sunbeam Tiger - One of a very few books that
is specific to the Sunbeam Tiger. While the original title
may have inadvertently mislead the reader into thinking that
this was just another "How To Modify Your Ford 260/289
V8", this book goes way beyond the engine. It covers
all possible areas of modification including the induction
system, clutch, transmission, differential, suspension, wheels,
tires, custom accessories, camshafts, Holley carburetors,
speedometer correction, factory options, special part numbers,
torque specifications, wiring diagram and a complete set of
flat rate tables. It discusses SCCA, NHRA and AHRA modifications
and includes a 40-page "step-by-step" photo section
with 77 illustrations. The ultimate Sunbeam Tiger reference
that has been out-of-print and unavailable for many years,
this book is highly sought after on the secondary market.
A "must-have" book for any Tiger enthusiast or owner,
or anyone contemplating the purchase or restoration of a Tiger.
A reproduction of the original 1967 publication.
