Monogram Popcorn Wagon Model Kit

popcorn wagon

An AMT Popcorn Wagon. I built stock out of the box. This is a great kit. It is 1/20 scale. All that chrome really makes it stand out.

I painted it Testors Gloss red and a hardware store paint gold. The wheels and tires are some of the best.

I was thinking I would put some kind of scale popcorn in the clear box portion, but at the time, couldn't figure out how I wanted to replicate that.

  • Diners, Bowling Alleys, and Trailer Parks: Chasing the American Dream in the Postwar Consumer Culture - The accessible topics and interesting prose support strong arguments concerning how marketing these institutions to newly affluent blue-collar workers shaped images of ideal middle-class suburban families.
  • Blue Plate Specials: Recipes Your Family & Friends Will Love the Most--Inspired by Diners Coast-to-Coast - Here's what's on the menu...stick-to-your-ribs recipes inspired by diners across the USA. Blue Plate Specials includes regional favorites like finger-lickin' chicken wings, Cape Cod chowder, jalapeño cornbread and, the diner standard, savory meatloaf. There are plenty of desserts from the pie case to round out the meal too. Our tips and quotes were also inspired by diners and the open road. You'll love 'em!
  • Station Wagons - Grab the kids and the picnic basket and load up the wagon for this colorful salute to the great American family hauler. Though the book covers American station wagons ranging from "depot hacks" of the 1920s to today's highly popular SUVs, the emphasis is on those fantastic automobiles that came into their own during the '50s and '60s. Some of the cars featured include beautiful woodys from all manufacturers, the Chevrolet Nomad and Pontiac Safari sport wagons, rare examples from Packard, the Studebaker Wagonaire, and the Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser. The wonderful images featured in this nostalgic, one-of-a-kind history include period color photography and print ads, as well as exclusive modern color photos of lovingly restored wagons.
  • American Diner - While traveling to diners across the U.S., author Michael Karl Witzel assembled a heaping mound of history and a plate-full of color photography that celebrates and examines an American institutions architecture, memorabilia, current restoration efforts, and role in pop culture.
