I
made this stock car version out of an AMT street Ford
Torino kit, with racing modifications I made myself.
It
is painted with a Walmart blue color out of the can, which
is a pretty good match for Petty Blue.
Nascar
Plymouth Superbird Model Kit
A
Monogram Plymouth Superbird.
Built out of the box for the most part. This is probably
painted with a Walmart "Richard Petty" Blue color
paint as well.
I
used decals to make it look like a stock car, but the kit
is built with all the street parts. Sort of like a street
car with just Nascar
type decals, an imaginary version.
This
is one of Monogram's best kits ever made as far as fitment.
Richard
Petty: The Cars of the King - "I've had lot of folks
ask us all sorts of questions," Petty says. "Real
often they will ask questions about things that were forgotten
about a long time ago. This is a book about the race cars
that have come out of the shops of Petty Enterprises."
With this different approach, readers of Richard Petty: The
Cars of the King, do not necessarily have to be Petty fans.
As a car enthusiast, the reader is taken through a chronology
of cars that Richard was associated with in the early '60s
to the vehicles used by the Petty team in 1997.
