- Jeep
Wrangler
- This book features all Jeep Wrangler models built from 1987
through 2006. It contains complete details of annual changes,
model-by-model, their prices and those of trim levels, and
options. It is illustrated with hundreds of color photographs
of virtually every Wrangler model, their interiors, distinguishing
features and options. A detailed index provides the reader
of quick access to information of interest. Adding to the
depth of the book's detailed text are excerpts from interviews
with key Jeep officials and designers, as well as contributions
from many Wrangler owners and enthusiasts.
- Off-Roader
Driving, Edition 1.2 - This is an excellent 4wd manual.
In fact, it is probably the best basic 4wd user book currently
in publication. From the first look at the index on the cover
flap, to the quality paper and color pictures, you know that
this book is different from most.
- Off-Road
4-Wheel Drive Book: Choosing, Using and Maintaining Go-Anywhere
Vehicles - The British point of view makes the book a
bit quirky and centered on Rovers, but a refreshing perspective.
You won't find the fat tire, bigger is better mentality here.
Good information on self-reliant get there and back 4 wheeling
is what this book is about. The preponderance of desert travel
observations were particularly useful for the locale I explore.
- Off-Road
Racing - Describes the nature, vehicles, and competitions
of off-road racing, focusing on four-wheel drive race vehicles
such as Range Rovers, Land cruisers, and Jeeps.
- Off-Road
Recovery Techniques: A Practical Handbook on the Principles
and Use of Equipment - Cole gives good safety information,
and recommends a very comprehensive toolkit (weighing in at
almost 200 lbs. excluding winch). His gadgets and tricks are
well suited to four-wheeling in his native, deforested England,
where it's hard to find a tree to winch to.
