This
is an inexpensive paint stand, for painting bodies.
It
is simply a wire coat hanger folded over, with a bit of "spring"
in it. This allows it to "snap" inside the body
and let you move and turn it around while painting. This allows
you to see all around the model to see how the paint is setting.
If
you think you might need to turn it over to paint the inside
(I do this on most of my bodies, because I prefer to paint
every part on a model kit) you can use a piece of masking
tape to hold the body to the hanger, just to be sure it does
not fall off. Being able to turn a body upside down also allows
you to simply put the hanger on a hook and let the body dry.
(what I do).
Typically
when I paint a body, I will tape on any rear or front fascias
(using tape inside the body) and do the same with the hood.
This
allows the paint to be even and consistent over the entire
model, and look better when assembled later.
I
left the body parts off here so you can see the hanger.
I
usually always paint my models outside in sunlight.
