Miss Budweiser Race Boat Model Kit

AMT
Miss Budweiser Hydroplane / race Boat.
This
is a large kit, 1/25 scale, and is around a foot long. My
kit came with stickers for the graphics on the deck, but I
believe some of these kits had actual water slide decals.
An additional decal sheet has all the smaller markings.
Maybe
they switched to stickers on the hull-deck, because of issues
with decal printing? They would have been quite large sheets.
This
is one of those kits that if it was packaged correctly, with
the right box art, would sell like crazy to me. And it's on
my wish reissue list.
Although
not this kit, I have built
two Budweiser race boats.

- A
Century of Gold Cup Racing - Celebrates 100 years of racing
for the Gold Cup - The Crown Jewel of Hydroplane Racing.
Fred Farley, the Official APBA Hydro-Prop Unlimited Historian,
and Ron Harsin, have written this excellent account of the history
of the Gold Cup which had its start in 1904. In those early days,
the boats ran at the Blistering Speed of 24 mph. Today's Unlimited
Hydroplanes - The Thunderboats - set the Water on Fire
at over 200 mph! These pages contain over one hundred black &
white photographs, many of which have never been published. It
is also the first known record of the races to have all the drivers'
and owners' name correctly listed for each race.
- Prop
Riders: 60 Years of Racing Hydroplanes - The hot rod muscle
cars of boat racing-hydroplanes powered by V-8 engines from Chevy,
Chrysler, Ford, BMW, and Alfa-Romeo-are explained in detail in
this book. Providing information on hull development, power train
technology, drivers, safety measures, racecourse design, and the
growing budweiser hobby of restoring vintage hydroplanes,
this fully illustrated volume explores these specialized boats
that skim atop the water balanced delicately on the propeller
and three small parts of the hull. Included in the appendix is
a list of postwar racing record holders, along with the names
of their boats and the types of engine used. This examination
of sleek, brightly painted hydroplanes appeals to the casual and
dedicated enthusiast, boat racing fans, hot-rodders, and vintage
boat hobbyists.
