An
Italeri military 1/25 Jeep kit. The kit has plastic
injection molded tires instead of rubber. But overall, I
believe it to be an accurate military Jeep model.
It
is very detailed and fit together well.
I
used chalks and washes to weather it.
I
added the gun, bag, and keg. (I figured, if you captured
a German pub, why not take along of keg for later?)
Unfortunately,
the kit did not come with a gun, such as a .50 cal. for
the interior. It did include a back seat, but I left that
out for storage. Though even if it did have a gun, I still
would have left out the seat.
While
referencing, some pictures I saw had the gunner standing,
firing the weapon, with the seat in. But if I was firing
for my life, I wouldn't want to trip over that seat. I think
I would have ditched that thing along the side of a German
road.
If
you build a lot of model cars and trucks, it's good to do
a military vehicle once in awhile for a break. Less stressful.
You can paint it all one color, and you don't have to worry
about polishing out the paint job!
