Monogram Ford F350 Dually Model Kit

This is a Monogram Ford F350 Dually. This is a great kit, very good fit. I painted this one Testors Gloss Black. I used some old Nascar decals on it.

The rest is built stock out of the box. This kit has probably the best one-ton rims there are.

Below:

A Monogram Ford F350 Dually kit. I wanted to make a big 4x4 off road type truck. What a project. I added a Boss 429 engine (from a Monogram Boss 429 Mustang). I added big tires which I took off a toy truck I found in a toy store.

I had to make body mounts to raise the body off the frame to clear the tires. Eventually I painted in a military green.

  • Scale Automotive Model Detailing: Projects you can do Book - Shows how to work with paints and finishes, adapt scale figures, add weathering, and use detailing techniques to add realistic details to cars, tanks, aircraft, ships, and diorama scale models.
  • Nascar Transporters - NASCAR Transporters" gives a very good look inside all those trailers you see at the races. Lots of color photos are included with descriptive text. While no costs for these fully equipped trailers are included, the reader is given plenty of background information on the trailers, packing order, optional equipment and planning. This book is a great primer for those interested in making a large car hauler.
  • Heavy Equipment - A big book describes big machines, providing eye-popping pictures of the monsters at work and good explanations of how they lift, dig, crush, mine, push earth and carry huge loads. One learns that the Komatsu 575A-2, pictured on page 21, is the world's largest bulldozer, capable of moving 90 cubic yards of dirt with a single shove. And that a massive, electric mining shovel needs a 7,200-volt power supply and, working 450 hours a month, will consume 430,000 kilowatts of electricity at a cost of $30,000. David J. Bowler, who operates several kinds of heavy equipment, gives the reader a sense of the skill and care required: "The day I think I know everything about running a crane is the day I'm going to get into trouble. Every job is different. You've got to know your load and you've got to know the machine's limit."
