The
decals were included with the kit, the paint is a Testors
Yellow.
At
the time I built this, I had a pretty good relationship
with the little store that did all my film developing. The
guy who owned it was a nice gentleman.
Anyway,
when I went to pick up this roll, he asked me about the
car, and asked me if he could make some copies for himself,
which I had no problem with.
One
of the pictures of the car was always displayed on his counter
from then on. Pretty cool.
Nascar
Budweiser Pickup Truck Model Kit
A
Craftsman Nascar Truck series kit.
When
the kits came out from the model companies, the Chevy one
was the first kind made.
Eager
to build one, this was my first example. An imaginary truck,
no specific team.
I
used Fred Cady Budweiser decals, and some decals that came
with the kit.
The
paint is Testors Gloss Red.
Overall
a good kit. Somewhat better than the Nascar car kits I have
built. These trucks also have a nice quick change rear end
if you need one of those for another project, such as a
I used in my 1971 Torino build.
How
to Build Monster Chevy Big Blocks - How to Build Monster
Chevy Big Blocks. Based on factory stock as well as bored/stroked
bow tie parts and aftermarket components, this book takes
readers from 396 cubes through 430, 510, 550, 572, 705, and
750 cubic inch engines. Includes pump gas 700 hp motors, streetable
890 hp engines, 510 cube/630 hp engines that look like a 396,
and more; it's all here in this heavily illustrated book.
Classic
Chevrolet Dealerships: Selling the Bow Tie - Since its
founding in 1912, Chevrolet has weathered the Great Depression,
two World Wars, confused markets, and fuel crises to become
an American motoring icon. Chevy's success would not have
been possible without the network of dealerships that sold
and marketed the company's cars and trucks, first to wary
customers unconvinced of the new contraptions' practicality,
then to nine decades of consumers ranging from cash-strapped,
to cash-flush, to confused, to increasingly fuel-conscious.
Cars
of the State Police & Highway Patrol - This book was
bought solely to be used as a reference source for model making
hobby. Well laid out and excellent photographs make
this a must for the model fanatic. Living in England there
is not a great deal of decent reference material of this nature.
I really cannot recommend this book enough.
Police
Cars: Restoring, Collecting and Showing America's Finest Sedans
- Police cars are a unique breed, and their restoration can
be much more difficult than other marques. Find out how to
tackle this project the right way with help from Jim Post,
founder of Police Car Owners of America, and Ed Sanow, author
of many well-known publications on police cars. Police Cars
provides insight into the cars, the emergency equipment, and
the police heritage itself. Reveals a complete a ground-up
restoration, from choosing the right car to locating all the
equipment you will need, to showing the finished project.
