A
Revell Ford Mustang GT.
I
thought this color would be a change of pace. Some of the
TV shows today where they rebuild cars really take the interiors
and paint to extreme, so I thought I would try that.
I
did the interior in colors to match the outside of the car.
The
chassis on this kit is very detailed, right down to the Ford
engineering part numbers on the exhaust, few kits can match
it. For some reason I lost one of the tires (or it was absent
from the kit), so the car has 3 tires, though you can't tell
from my picture views.
The
engine was a bear to get to fit, and I eventually could not
get the hood to close because of the intake manifold. I lost
patience with it and just glued the hood shut.
I
can't say I am really happy with the build, I don't know if
it's just me or the kit, but it was a real fight all the way.
Styling
wise, the rear bumpers on these cars are very ugly to me.
They don't seem to go with the rest of the car's look. If
I do another one of these, I'm going to do something with
the back end.
