- Chevy

introduction in 1955, the Chevrolet small-block V-8 has been one
of America's most popular, powerful, and desirable engines. stock
cars, drag racers, Trans-Am cars, and racing boats. All of Chevrolet’s

- Camaro
Restoration Handbook: Ground-Up or Sectional Restoration Tips
and Techniques for 1967 to 1981 Camaros. All Models Included
- This book provides a very complete and easily used reference
on Camaro part numbers, options packages, and tips for show-quality
restorations. It greatly aids planning on a "real" restoration
(that is, returning the car to its original factory condition),
providing enough information to identify virtually every part
in the car. For example, it provides decoding information for
the numeric stamp on Camaro transmissions (which is otherwise
unintelligible). It also provides a large number of B&W
photos and diagrams of parts and assemblies.
- Camaro:
Untold Secrets 1967-1969
- This book is all and *only* about Chevrolet's
efforts in the old Trans-America road race series. As you may
know, the desire to be competitive in Trans-Am led to Chevrolet
developing the Z/28 option package in the first place. Hood induction,
twin carburetors on the 302, chassis set up, and the famous JL-1
(SP?) four-wheel disk brakes are all covered in great detail.
- Trans-Am:
The Pony Car Wars 1966-1972 - This photographic retrospective
follows the Trans-Am series from its inception until the end of
the 1971 season, when significant rule changes forced the withdrawal
of North American manufacturer teams. The period signified the
golden age of the pony muscle car.
- Vintage
American Road Racing Cars, 1950-1970 - “It’s exceedingly
difficult for me to understand how a book so wonderfully comprehensive
can be so very entertaining. How could such a book crammed with
hard facts and cold figures and exact measurements be such a magic-carpet
ride back to the halcyon days of American road racing? I will
just answer my own question if you don’t mind. ‘Let
Harold Pace and Mark Brinker loose to research and write Vintage
American Road Racing Cars 1950-1970 and you have a real masterwork.’SAH
Journal – for the Society of Automotive Historians, October/November
2005”.
- Penske
Racing Team: 40 Years of Excellence - From its modest beginnings
behind a Philadelphia-area watchmaker's shop some 40 years ago,
the Penske Racing Team, more than any other organization, has
influenced the development, growth and direction of auto racing
in the United States as both a sport and a business. Led by former
race driver turned "Fortune 500" business mogul Roger
Penske, this team has won more than 250 major auto races around
the world, captured 19 national championships (including 12 Indy-Car
titles), and have enjoyed success in all forms of racing—Indy-Cars,
sports cars, Formula-1, endurance racing and NASCAR. Penske Racing
Team...40 Years of Excellence documents the fascinating history
of this unique organization, focusing on the talented drivers
and innovative engineering that have been responsible for the
team's spectacular and enduring success. It also highlights the
key events that have defined American motorsports during this
timeframe; including the rise and fall of U.S. sports car racing
in the 1960s and 1970s; the politics of the USAC-CART split in
the late 1970s; the CART-IRL battle that unfolded 20 years later;
and the phenomenal transformation of NASCAR from its moonshine
roots into the mainstream commercial phenomenon that it is today.
