This is an AMT
1/16 big scale 1965
- 1966 Ford Mustang kit.
It is a fair kit, but there were a few things I did not
like about it. It comes with two kinds of tires, an old
style bias-ply tire looking set and a more modern performance
tire set.
The
nice cragar rims are sized wrong for the front, so they
only will fit the bias ply tire. This means you have to
mismatch the tires, which is ok if you go for the street
drag racing stance that I did.
The
rear comes with a choice of leaf springs , stock or the
ones I used to raise the rear slightly for that aggressive
(though a bit redneck) stance. The engine is detailed some.
Another downside for this kit is is has a metal axle that
goes right through the engine.
The
kit comes with an optional Cobra style air cleaner and valve
covers, which I used. The hood is removable, and the doors
open (I glued them shut). This kit had good chrome, especially
on the wheels.
