AMT Lincoln Continental Model Kit

1965 resin continental kit

AMT 1965 Lincoln Continental. This was originally a convertible kit but the hardtop body is a resin casting from Missing Link.

These few years of Lincoln featured the "suicide" doors, opening up oposite to each other.

The body was an extremely clean cast example, no flash or bubbles, you would almost swear it was a styrene body.

The kit hood is reused, and fit with only very minor sanding.

This color is a Tamiya 1950's Turquoise type green.

The wheels are from a die cast cadillac I had bought and redid as another project (the die cast came with two sets of tires and wheels).

The color is a Tamiya shade of paint from a can.

I never did make a new rear window, though it's hard to tell in the pictures.

1965 Lincoln Continental

AMT 1965 Lincoln Continental box.

The kit can be built as a custom or stock convertible.

It also includes custom parts to make it a station wagon, though Lincoln never offered such a 1:1 version in real life.

Building this kit, there will be a lot of parts left over for sure !

The old style box art is a great touch for this issue.
