This is a 1/24
scale Jada die cast Cadillac. It was originally a rat rod
type custom I bought at a walmart. Originally is was covered
in a dark primer color, with some pinstripe graphics.
It
included 2 sets of wheels, and for some reason, I thought
it would look better in color. When I got it home I disassembled
the whole car, being careful not to break any tabs or screws.
So
I then sanded the body and painted it silver, then painted
it an automotive metallic red with a Testors clear coat.
The
carson type top was gray, which was ugly, so I repainted
it white.
Then
I reassembled it, doing some touch up painting along the
way, including the undercarriage and door jambs.
Overall,
it was nice to take a break and simply redo a car model
rather than start with an entire kit to assemble.
Though,
by rebuilding one yourself, you don't get any assembly instructions
