007 James Bond and Odd Job Goldfinger Figures Kit

Airfix James Bond and Odd Job figures model kit. #04402

The scale is 1/12, which at first seems an odd scale, but there are several 1/12 scale car kits, so I guess you could use these figures with one of those. Both figures include a basic "diorama" type stand.

The box art features photos of the real actors, a nice touch. Of course, the kit's figures are based from the movie "Goldfinger".

Polar Lights also did figure models of both Sean Conery and Odd Job, in a larger scale.

  • James Bond: The Secret World of 007 - Text, artwork, and photographs examine the James Bond character from the 007 films, describing his spy missions, gadgets, vehicles, enemies, allies, and lovers.
  • Bond Girls are Forever : The Women of James Bond - Since Ian Fleming wrote Casino Royale in 1953, Bond girls have been quintessential American sex symbols. Sexy, dazzling and self-assured, the character has been ogled by men and lambasted by feminists in all of its incarnations. D'Abo, who played Kira Milovy in the James Bond film The Living Daylights, and Cork (co-author of James Bond: The Legacy) walk readers through over 50 years of Bond girl history in this alluring volume, which celebrates the character as a role model and as a groundbreaking achievement in film. As Cork explains, "women like this had simply never been seen in films before." The authors offer summaries and studies of every Bond film, emphasizing the Bond girl's role in each one, and share quotes from Bond girls such as Ursula Andress, Halle Berry, Honor Blackman and Jane Seymour. Using fantastic photos, analytical discussion and primary source material, the authors show how far the Bond girl has come since the world became enamored with the first iconic image of her rising out of the sea wearing a bikini with a knife strapped on to it.
  • Goldfinger - Dry as ice, dripping with deadpan witticisms, only Sean Connery's Bond would dare disparage the Beatles, that other 1964 phenomenon. No one but Connery can believably seduce women so effortlessly, kill with almost as much ease, and then pull another bottle of Dom Perignon '53 out of the fridge. Goldfinger contains many of the most memorable scenes in the Bond series: gorgeous Shirley Eaton (as Jill Masterson) coated in gold paint by evil Auric Goldfinger and deposited in Bond's bed; silent Oddjob, flipping a razor-sharp derby like a Frisbee to sever heads; our hero spread-eagle on a table while a laser beam moves threateningly toward his crotch. Honor Blackman's Pussy Galore is the prototype for the series' rash of man-hating super models. And Desmond Llewelyn reprises his role as Q, giving Bond what is still his most impressive car, a snazzy little number (Aston Martin) that fires off smoke screens, punctures the tires of vehicles on the chase, and boasts a handy ejector seat. Goldfinger's two climaxes, inside Fort Knox and aboard a private plane, have to be seen to be believed.
  • Classic Kits: Collecting the Greatest Model Kits in the World, from Airfix to Tamiya - Classic Kits treats you to an international tour of model–kit history, taking in all the favorites—Airfix, Monogram, Mattel, Frog, Matchbox, Bandai, Merit Aurora, Esci, Heller, Tamiya, Fujimi, Eaglewall, Italeri, and more. Not only does this nostalgic guide allow you to compare and contrast the different models and their historical development (and, in some cases, demise), it also notes the rare and the valuable, so you can re–evaluate those pieces you have stored in your attic. Packed with color photos and valuable information for collectors, hobbyists, and enthusiasts, Classic Kits is a one–of–a–kind history of the giants of miniature modeling. Arthur Ward, the leading expert on the history of model kits, is the author of The Model World of Airfix and Airfix: Celebrating Fifty Years of the Greatest Modeling Kits in the World.
