This is a
1/64 1979 Harley Davidson F150 Ford pickup by Hotwheels.

Sent into
me by a visitor: "This is a 1/64 1979 Ford F150 pickup by
Hotwheels. It is a "Miller Hobbies" Hot Wheels 1979
F150 pickup.
I got it
from Target. It has the affixed camper top.It seems to be the Harley
Davidson pickup only with different paint and wheels. Its #217
of the 2003 series."

This is a
1/64 Hot Wheels 1979 Sam Walton Ford F150 pickup, which
I bought at Walmart of course.
The bed has
a dog kennel in the back, and a tool box. But they
can't be removed, they are molded in basically.

This is a
1/64 1979 Ford F150 pickup.Hot Wheels Attack
Pack Series, First Editions. A friend of mine sent me this one.
It has a graphic down the side. This also is a Hot Wheels, so
it is probably the same die as the Walmart and Harley Davidson
one above.

Alan
G. was kind enough to send me an email with more information
about diecast. Thanks Alan! (October 5, 2003)
I came
across your web-site and saw your die cast page and have
some information about various Ford die cast trucks (I am
an avid Ford truck fan and scale model collector).
A company called Liberty Classics produces
a1:24(?) scale 1979 F150; however, the
truck is for promotional sale only. They were to sell
the truck through Toys-R-Us, but for whatever reason the
deal didn’t go through. I e-mailed them and
they said there is a remote chance the truck could be sold
to the public in a couple of years.
Matchbox
also produced a 1:64 scale 1978 or 1979 F-150 Flareside,
I do not know much about this truck though. I don’t
even know if it is still in production. Matchbox also
made a 1968 F-100 in the late 60s or early
70s. These trucks are very desirable among collectors
and fetch a high price. I believe all were painted
red, but the colors of the grilles, bumpers and frames varied.
Aside from those and the trucks shown on your site, I have
yet to see another die cast Ford truck from 1967 to 1979.
In the 1980s more Ford truck models were produced.
Aside from Broncos, I do not know of any 1980-1986 style
F-150s or F-100s. Maisto did make a 1:64 scale 1987-1991
F-150 baja style truck that is still in production and Ertl
produced a nicely detailed 1987-1991 F-150 long bed that
is probably still in production.
When
the 1992 F-150 was introduced, the model truck market responded
with many die cast trucks. Maisto made 1993 F-150s
in many scales, Ertl made F-150s in many scales and the
promotional F-150 from Ertl/AMT was introduced. I
own one of the promotional models and it is a very nice
truck.
Road
Champs also produced a 1:43 scale F-150 Flareside and the
Franklin Mint produced an extremely well-detailed 1996
F-150 that I am currently searching for.
They are not cheap or easy to find. 1997 again brought another
boom in scale Ford truck production.
Maisto,
Mira, Ertl/AMT, Revell, Hot Wheels, Matchbox, Golden Wheel
(a little known Korean company), Welly and many more companies
introduced scale F-150s most of which are still being sold.
Ertl was one of the first to make a replica of the truck
and they made a nicely detailed 1997 Ford F-150 that is
hard to find in stores now.
Just thought I would tell you what I know about F-100/F-150
die cast trucks.
