No
script here. Just a fast review down & dirty. Which means
I make some mistakes. Here are some additions and corrections.
This
kit is made by a company called "Bunka". I ordered it
from Hobbylink Japan in 2011. (Code: BNK01041).
No
year is given, but it is clearly the 1971-1973 style body. (More
of a '71).
There
is no decal sheet with the kit. (you would have to paint the Mach
1 stripes yourself.)
The
1971 Mach 1's came with a 351C (Cleveland) 4 barrel with 4V heads.
(Though a 429 was an option on other Mustangs). The engine is
kind of basic, so identification is subject to how you look at
it.
The
1971 Mach 1 models have the stripes as you see them on the box.
Other Mach 1's had slightly different paint schemes. In 1971,
the bumpers on Mach 1 Mustangs were painted, rather than chrome.
More
about these cars is available
here.
As
I mention, it would be hard to build the large model as factory
stock, but it can still be a fun build if you like Mustangs.
The
1/24 scale kit is a curbside.
NOTE:
The Mustang in Gone in 60 Seconds was a 1973, and not a Mach 1,
so it would take some work for this to be an exact replica of
that car. But I plan on building mine similar to that anyway.
:-)
You
could also make a similar car to the 1971 red Mustang in James
Bond "Diamonds are Forever".
