Flight 19 IPMS Model Contest Model Show

These are some pictures from the Flight 19 IPMS show.
Sorry for the poor images,
the digital camera I had at the time
was not the best on close ups.

Click here for a LOT more picture from this show.

A good model friend of mine Mike A. built this Nissan Skyline. As usual, it's
detailed to the max. Mike is also know for his fantastic paint work.

The doors, hood, and trunk all open and close as well.

A model I want to build. The Starsky & Hutch Ford Torino. This was a great build.
The body I am sure is resin, but the engine and chassis might be from the
MPC 1973 Cougar kit.(?)

Nemo's "Automobile". I have one of these kits, and even with that said, I
did not realize how large it is (especially the nose) when finished.

I still would like to open up the hood, and detail it out with an old V16 or something.

Hmm...there's a fresh grave and body in the truck.

It doesn't look good !

A humorous diorama from Adam at Model Truck Mafia.

I wish I had taken more (and much better) pictures of the military builds.
There were so many great subjects.

These two boats really caught my eye, especially the white German one. It is
1:72, I have looked at the kit a few times, but now I like it even more seeing it built. At 1:72 it's quite bigger than I expected.

The green boat as well was well done. I want to guess it was a heavily
modified PT boat kit, but I am not sure.

  • McLaren Sports Racing Cars -Bruce McLaren's performances as a Formula 1, endurance, and Can-Am driver were almost always impressive. But it was the New Zealander's highly successful career as an innovative carbuilder which forever etched the McLaren name in the annals of motorsport. This photo history examines McLaren's legendary endurance and Can-Am racers beginning with the formation of Bruce McLaren Racing Limited in 1963, continuing through his tragic death at the Goodwood circuit in 1970, and finishing with the completion of the Can-Am series in 1974. Splendid photography from the archives of Dave Friedman give readers views of the cars under construction and in action, and candid glimpses of Bruce McLaren and other personalities associated with the organization, including long-time teammate Denis Hulme. A special epilogue brings the story full circle with coverage of the million-dollar 1998 McLaren F1 "supercar" in both road and race trim.
  • Mechanic's Tale: Life in the Pit-Lanes of Formula One -A top Grand Prix mechanic’s firsthand account of the personalities and performances that make or break a Formula One racing team, featuring 60 color photos. From his beginnings as a young apprentice through his time at Ferrari and BMW, to his later success with Benetton. There are eyewitness accounts of the great drivers, including Michael Schumacher, Nigel Mansell, Alain Prost, and Ayrton Senna.
  • Motor Racing: Reflections of a Lost Era -The British motorsport scene has always been renowned for brave innovation and this was certainly the case during the exciting time described by this book. An enthusiast’s reflective pot-pourri, in words and intimate paddock scenes, photographed in black and white and color beginning from the mid-1950s and through the 1960s, when motor racing was still accessible to all, and, finally the 1970s when overt sponsorship and television changed the sport forever, a defining era. Illustrated with 300 extensively captioned photos, many previously unpublished. Including continental race circuits, the cars and the personalities.
  • Power Brokers: The Inside Track on the Controllers of Formula 1 -The world's major car makers decided in February to seize the reins of Formula 1 from its controllers, Bernie Ecclestone and Max Mosley. This resulted in an an epic struggle and the focus of interest for many years. There is no one better qualified than Alan Henry to reveal how Ecclestone and Mosley did it: how they bent theworld's largest corporations to their will and made personal fortunes along the way. Formula 1 has the biggest global audience of any spectator sport.
