European Cars Photographic History -East European cars
are generally derided in the West as cheap, low-quality rustbuckets.
This title aims to dig deeper, covering almost all the vehicles
produced from the end of the Second World War to the end of
the 20th century from the most basic three-wheeler from Czechosolovakia
to the big V8 limousines of Russian and China. Many Soviet
bloc cars were never exported to the West so there are many
unfamiliar marques such as the Zil, Chaika, Syrena and Tatra.
These are covered along with the better known Skoda, Lada
and Trabant, including Soviet land-speed records and prototypes.

- Cars
of Eastern Europe: The Definitive History -Cars of Eastern
Europe tells the story of the cars and vans made in Latvia,
Poland, the former Yugoslavia, the Czech Republic and Slovakia,
Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria and East Germany. In a region that
stretches from the Black Sea to the Baltic, the vehicles were
as varied as the nations themselves. Now that eastern Europe
has come in from the cold, this book offers a unique and timely
survey of the motor industry in this often overlooked part
of the continent.
- Russian
Motor Vehicles: Soviet Limousines 1930-2003 -A book concerning
Russian Limousines, and the Chinese models that were initially
derived from them, has never been attempted before. This book
investigates the whole story of why the Soviet Communist Party
required such a bourgeois product, and how production was
subsequently achieved. Following the orders of Stalin, work
on the Limousines commenced during the first Five Year Plan
(1927-1933) at the Putilov Works, late the Kirov Zavod, where
the Leningrad L-1 was made in a limited number. From these
beginnings, the Moscow and Gorky models emerged, and later
the Chinese-derived types made with Russian aid during the
late 1950s. Covering all of these models, up to the last one
produced in 2003, and featuring full specifications translated
from the relevant primary sources in Russian and Chinese literature,
this is a meticulous and unique account of a previously neglected
subject.
