The Collier Automotive Museum in Naples, Florida, was a great museum. The cars were very diverse. Here are scans of an original brochure I recieved when I visited. My wife an I were lucky this day, because we had two guides, two older gentleman, who could tell stories and history about every car there. We basically had a personal tour. I saw cars there I will never again see in my life time. Simply amazing.

Some of the cars that were there, not mentioned in the flyer, were a Bentley Blower, several early Porches, and more than one Dusenberg. The Cunningham cars were there, also the La Monstrose.

Note that the museum itself is closed, and this information is for historical value only.

  • Chevy 1955-1956-1957 - If beautiful pictures of classic Chevrolet cars is what you are looking for- this is the book for you. Every car in this photo gallery is in brand new condition. There are wonderful engine shots and full color photos of all the classic chevy models of 1955-1957. The text information is also very complete- good information on all the options and interior selections on the classic Tri-Chevys is given.
  • Chevrolet History, 1940-1954 - A fascinating and informative look at the history of the Chevrolet as told through General Motors archive photos. The book was written and compiled by John D. Robertson, retired product expert from the GM archives. Book #2 is part of a four book set that covers the years 1940-54
  • Story of Chevy Impalas (The) - With bright full-page photos and a focus on the history of each auto, these two entries in the Classic Cars series are heavy on eye-candy and simple, easily digestible information. Beetles follows the history of the Chevy Impala car from its introduction in 1935 and booming popularity in the '60s and '70s to its rebirth in 1998. Impalas traces the auto's evolution from a roomy, fun car marketed to young people into a gas-guzzling powerhouse and, finally, into an affordable, efficient family car.
  • Return to Macon County - A hopped up 1957 chevy and two guys cross country on thier way to the nationals drag race in california.A long the way they meet a girl that nick nolte falls for and then the trouble starts. Filming leaves a little to be desired as does the acting but overall definately a keeper.
  • Two Lane Blacktop - Drag racing east from L.A. in a souped-up 1955 Chevy are the wayward Driver and Mechanic (singer/songwriter James Taylor and the Beach Boys of Dennis Wilson, in their only acting roles), accompanied by a tagalong Girl (Laurie Bird). Along the way, they meet Warren Oates Pontiac GTO-driving wanderer and challenge him to a cross-country race the prize: their cars of pink slips. Yet no summary can do justice to the existential punch of Two-Lane Blacktop. Maverick director Monte Hellman stripped-down narrative, gorgeous widescreen compositions, and sophisticated look at American male obsession make this one of the artistic high points of 1970s cinema, and possibly the greatest road movie ever made.
  • Original Chevrolet 1955, 1956, 1957 - This book covers 1955, 1956, and 1957 Chevrolets-Tri-Chevys-some of the most popular American cars of all time. Beautifully illustrated with 250 color photographs, this book focuses on all the details restorers and enthusiasts want to know. An entire chapter is devoted to the elegant '55, '56, and '57 Nomads and the unique components used on these stylish station wagons. A large appendix includes production numbers, component identification codes, and interior trim charts. Everything pertaining to Chevrolet's passenger car models from 1955-1957 is highlighted.
  • Chevrolet History, 1955-1957 - A fascinating and informative look at the history of the Chevrolet as told through General Motors archive photos. The book was written and compiled by John D. Robertson, retired product expert from the GM archives. Book #3 is part of a four book set that covers the years 1955-1957.
  • Chevy Tri-Five Custom Interiors: 1955, 1956, 1957 - Chevy Tri-Five Custom Interiors is the first of a series of books featuring the work of Ron Mangus, well-known for award-winning custom hot rod interiors. Chevy Tri-Five Custom Interiors features four, two-page photographic spreads for beautiful, custom, award-winning 1955, 1956, and 1957 Chevy hot rods. The cars and interiors presented in the book will inspire readers and help them visualize interior design possibilities for their own cars. Detailed photographs of the interior features accompanied by Ron’s captions explain the ideas behind the interiors—the design process, color and material selections, unique features, challenges, sound system solutions, and some of the creative problem-solving needed to work out the design. Ron is continually asked by customers and hotrod enthusiasts for pictorials of his interiors to enjoy and inspire, and this series answers the desire for a presentation of his creativity and innovation.
  • Chevrolet, 1955-1957 - The 1955 model Chevy had the first V8 option since 1918. The 265 V8 was the forerunner of the 283-307-327-350-400 engines that followed. The body was squared off with a wraparound windshield. By 1957 fins were introduced in keeping with the era and a major introduction was the Turboglide automatic transmission. Most of the engine options were in the high performance category. In this period Chevrolet established a reputation for equipment that easily adapted to racing. This book consists of road tests, technical and specification data, model intros, consumer analysis, history, engines and transmissions and chassis reworking. Models covered include: Bel Air, station wagon, convertible, Beauville, 210 150, V8 coupe, Ramjet.
  • Chevrolet's Hot Ones: 1955, 1956, 1957 - Introduced as a hardcover in Spring 1995, this softbound edition offers a lower-cost version of the colorful book that examines the legend behind the three most-beloved years in Chevrolet history. In one model year, Chevy wiped the slate clean and produced an automobile that managed to vanquish a staid and stodgy image. The 1955 model featured a new chassis powered by a brawny V8 and dressed out with a thoroughly modern body. America loved it. Author Anthony Young teams with photographer Mike Mueller to look back at the three-year span from 1955 through 1957, when Chevy twice refined an already popular automobile. Marvelous modern color and archival black-and-white photography accompanies a narrative text examining the Tri-Chevys in all their glory, including the engineering advances (i.e., the small-block V8 and fuel injection) they introduced to the motoring world and the myriad luxury options they dangled before eager post-war consumers (i.e., plush upholstery and air conditioning).
