Moebius Models does some exclusive kits for special events. Sometimes it's the box art, sometimes they glow in the dark, but many times they kits are molded in certain colors or a transparent plastic.

Just in case you may not know it, their smaller 1:350 scale Seaview kit is available in Transparent Blue plastic.

Made for the IPMS Nationals in 2009, (but arriving to late for the event), they are limited to 240 kits, 120 for the US market, and 120 for Japan. So if you ever wanted something unique for your collection, now is the time to grab one.

Lindberg Imperial Japanese Navy Submarine C1 I-20 Class Model Kit

It seems lately, models are getting larger and larger. Big Scale is in !

Lindberg has released their Imperial Japanese Navy Submarine C-1 (class) I-20. The kit includes an HA-20 Midget Sub as well. At 1:72 scale, this kit is over 58 inches long !

Built by Mitsubishi Corporation from 1942 to 1944, the C3 class submarines were originally intended as cargo carriers, and when it was first launched, the C3 type subs were the largest and most advanced submarine in the world. Only three of C3 type submarines were produced during World War II (I-52, I-53 and I-55), although twenty were planned.

This is a large scale assembly kit of the IJN I-53 submarine, and the kit features: 4-piece hull with screw reinforced construction. Raised weld seams. Recessed limber holes and separately molded bilge keels. 2 piece deck construction with wood plank texture. Four deck mounted Kaiten torpedoes with individually molded crew hatches. Additional parts for one Kaiten torpedo with display stand. Over 300 parts!
